President Obama Fills Out
Bracket Exclusively for ESPN

President Barack Obama filled out his bracket predictions for the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball C h a m p i o n s h i p exclusively with ESPN.com senior writer Andy Katz (men’s) and ESPN basketball analyst Doris Burke (women’s).
The President made the following comments on several NCAA men’s championship matchups (women’s bracket available on Friday, 9 a.m. SportsCenter):

On Marquette-Murray State: Congratulations to them (Murray State) but, the teams they played were not that tough. So, you got to go with Marquette on this one.

Obama on Virginia-Missouri: Mizzou looks very good to me. As you will see, I’m thinking they go pretty far. On Cincinnati-Florida State: I like Florida State. Having won the ACC, I know they are tested. I like them.

On Wichita State-Indiana: (about Wichita State) I love their coach. I love their team. (about Indiana) They had a great Big Ten, they beat some really good teams. They are a tough team.

On Kansas-Purdue: We are going to pick Kansas, even though it’s terrific that Purdue is going to get past the first round. Robby Hummel after having all those injuries, he is a terrific player.

Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach Seth Greenberg will arrive at ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., studios later this week to take part in the network’s men’s basketball coverage. He will have a vigorous schedule Thursday and Friday – offering his expert opinion with some of ESPN’s top analysts on SportsCenter and College GameDay.

Weekly Game Highlights – NIT, NCAA WBB Championship & Olympic Sport Coverage

ESPN’s comprehensive men’s basketball coverage of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) continues Wednesday with a doubleheader on ESPN2 beginning with Minnesota at LaSalle (7 p.m.). Second-round games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 will continue over the weekend, with full schedule updates on Thursday.

ESPN tips-off its extensive coverage of all 63 games of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship Presented by Capital One – beginning Saturday, March 17, with first- and second-round action from across the nation.

Coverage highlights:

• Games can be seen across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3 and ESPN FULL COURT

• Trey Wingo will host ESPN’s studio coverage from Bristol, Conn., along with analysts Kara Lawson and Carolyn Peck

• ESPN will feature additional NCAA Championship content across its platforms, including SportsCenter, espnW, ESPN.com, ESPNEWS, WatchESPN and ESPN International

Game highlights:

• First-round action begins on ESPN2 & ESPN3 Saturday, March 17 with top seeds UConn and Stanford in action (approx. 1:30 p.m.), followed on Sunday with Nos. 1 Baylor and Notre Dame (approx. 2:30 p.m.)

• Second-round games will be Monday and Tuesday, March 19 & 20, on ESPN2 and ESPN starting at 7 & 9:30 p.m. each day

Each of ESPNU’s four men’s lacrosse games slated for this weekend feature the nation’s top-ranked teams, including a doubleheader Saturday, March 17. Game highlights:

• A Saturday doubleheader featuring No. 19 Penn at No. 15 Princeton in an Ivy matchup (2 p.m.), followed by No. 5 Syracuse at No. 2 Johns Hopkins (4 p.m.)

• An ACC battle between No. 12 North Carolina at No. 14 Duke on Friday (5 p.m.)

• Former Great Western Lacrosse League foes take to the field as No. 9 Denver plays at No. 7 Notre Dame on Sunday (1 p.m.)

A Southeastern Conference matchup swings the softball season into full gear on ESPNU this week. On Saturday, March 17 at 6 p.m., Ole Miss takes on No. 2 Alabama. The game marks the first of 46 softball games scheduled across ESPN networks during the regular 2012 season.
