ESPN Tournament Challenge -A Fine Mess
Not one of ESPN.com’s 6.45 million Men’s Tournament Challenge brackets is perfect as the tournament heads into the Sweet Sixteen. In fact, only three brackets correctly picked every Sweet Sixteen team, including the current leader in the game with just six missed picks.Taking a look at picks of teams advancing to the Sweet Sixteen by region: 5.5 percent of the brackets predicted all four teams from the East correct (Syracuse, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Cincinnati); 4.3 percent picked all four from the West (Michigan State, Marquette, Louisville, Florida); 1.3 percent picked all four from the South (Kentucky, Baylor, Indiana, Xavier); and 0.7 percent picked all four from the Midwest (North Carolina, Kansas, NC State, Ohio).
 
 There are also no perfect brackets in the Women’s Tournament Challenge, and just 53 brackets missed one pick. An analysis of all brackets submitted reveals: only 9.4 percent predicted No. 11 Marist to upset No. 4 Georgia, 22.3 percent had No. 11 Kansas defeating No. 6 Nebraska and 25 percent chose No. 11 Gonzaga over No. 6 Rutgers.

Villanova’s Jay Wright to Visit ESPN Campus
Villanova men’s basketball coach Jay Wright will take some time to visit the ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., studios later this week. He will have a non-stop schedule on Friday – offering his expert opinion with some of ESPN’s top analysts on SportsCenter, The Herd, The Scott Van Pelt Show, SportsNation and some additional appearances throughout the day.

ESPNU is college championship central this week with NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving, NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Regionals, and MEAC Bowling Championship.  Tournament Countdown programming continues as the Sweet Sixteen are narrowed to the Elite Eight and then the Final Four. 

But one season’s end is another’s season opener.
Thursday (7 p.m.) – College Baseball Live is hosted by Dari Nowkhah with ESPN.com baseball writer Keith Law and analyst Ben McDonald. This week’s coverage will include an in-depth look at a rematch of the 2011 College World Series Finals between Florida and South Carolina (7:30 p.m., ESPNU).
 
Weekly Game Highlights – NIT, NCAA WBB Championship & Olympic Sport Coverage
Exclusive coverage of the entire men’s basketball NIT continues with the quarterfinal Tuesday and Wednesday on ESPN and ESPN2, respectively. ESPN2 will televise both semifinal games (March 27) and ESPN will have the Championship (March 29). The semifinals and the championship will also be on ESPN 3D.

Complete coverage of all 63 games of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship Presented by Capital One continues with second-round action. Regional games from Des Moines, Iowa and Fresno, Calif., will start Saturday, March 24, followed on Sunday with contests from Kingston, R.I. and Raleigh, N.C. Highlights:  
• Tuesday’s primary games: No. 8 California vs. No. 1 Notre Dame (7:20 p.m.) and No. 11 Kansas vs. No. 3 Delaware (9:40 p.m.)
• The entire nation will see two telecasts on ESPNU Tuesday – No. 9 Florida vs. No. 1 Baylor (7:05 p.m.) and No. 7 Vanderbilt vs. No. 2 Duke (9:35 p.m.)  

ESPNU & ESPN3 feature a men’s lacrosse schedule of six top-25 teams Saturday, March 24, including a showdown of the top two – No. 2 Johns Hopkins at No. 1 Virginia at 2 p.m. on ESPNU. Additional highlights:  

• An ACC matchup pitting No. 7 Maryland at No. 14 North Carolina (noon, ESPNU)
• No. 11 Duke travels to No. 18 Georgetown (noon, ESPN3)  

Baseball National Championship Rematch
ESPNU’s Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week package will debut this week at 7:30 p.m. with No. 1 Florida at No. 8 South Carolina, in a rematch of last year’s College World Series Finals, won by South Carolina.  

Action will continue on Sunday and Monday with two games from the No. 20 NC State at No. 5 North Carolina series: Sunday on ESPN3 at 2 p.m. and also featured as the weekly ACC Monday game at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.  

Overall, ESPN will showcase more than 150 regular-season and championship baseball games in 2012 across ESPNU, ESPN3, ESPN2 and ESPN. The schedule will feature more than 70 regular-season and conference championship games and up to 83 contests from the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship.

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
