NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Live from Pocono on ESPN

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be at Pocono (PA) Raceway for a 400-mile race on Sunday, Aug. 5, and  ESPN will have a live telecast. NASCAR Countdown airs at noon ET with the race’s green flag at 1:18 p.m. Also from Pocono, ESPN2 will air NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 a.m. All NASCAR programming on ESPN and ESPN2 is also available on computers, smartphones and tablets with the WatchESPN app and WatchESPN.com.

NASCAR Nationwide Series in Prime Time from Iowa on ESPN2        

The NASCAR Nationwide Series races in prime time at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa, on Saturday night, Aug. 4, and the race will air live on ESPN2. NASCAR Countdown is at 7:30 p.m. ET with the race’s green flag at 8:14 p.m.  Also from Iowa, ESPN2 airs NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying earlier in the day at 4:30 p.m. All NASCAR programming on ESPN2 is also available on computers, smartphones and tablets with the WatchESPN app and WatchESPN.com.

The race will be the last of four consecutive events that comprise the NASCAR Nationwide Series Dash 4 Cash, a bonus program that will award an extra $100,000 to the highest-finishing of four eligible drivers in each of the four designated races.

NHRA Seattle Action on ESPN2, ESPN3

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series concludes its annual three-event Western Swing with the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle this weekend and drag racing fans can watch action on ESPN2 and ESPN3. All NHRA programming on is also available on computers, smartphones and tablets through WatchESPN and the WatchESPN app.

The IZOD IndyCar Series visits Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, on Sunday, Aug. 5, and ABC will air a live telecast of the race.  Coverage begins with pre-race at 12:30 p.m. ET with the race’s green flag at 1 p.m.

American Le Mans Series on ABC, ESPN3 from Mid-Ohio

The American Le Mans Series races this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, and sports car racing fans can watch the Saturday, Aug. 4, sports car endurance race on both ABC and ESPN3. The ESPN3 coverage begins at 12:45 a.m. ET with ABC joining the race at 2 p.m. for a two-hour telecast.

ESPN3, ESPN’s multi-screen live sports network, also will air qualifying for the event on Friday, Aug. 3, at 1:35 p.m. All ALMS programming on ESPN3 is also available on computers, smartphones and tablets with the WatchESPN app and WatchESPN.com.

 

NASCAR Now Schedule

ESPN2’s daily NASCAR news and information program NASCAR Now will preview the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway in the one-hour weekend edition that airs Sunday, Aug. 5, at 9 a.m. Host Marty Reid will be joined by ESPN NASCAR analyst, with reporters Marty Smith and Ryan McGee at the track. On Monday, Aug. 6, ESPN analyst Ricky Craven will join Reid in the studio to review the race at 3 p.m.
