John Sutcliffe is one the most versatile and respected sports reporters in the industry. For over 20 years, he has enlivened ESPN’s coverage of NFL, and other major sporting events, with his flair and unique reporting style.

Sutcliffe began his career at ESPN in August 2000.  Since then, he has been the network’s leading Mexican National Team correspondent and serves as onsite reporter for NFL across ESPN Deportes and ESPN in Latin America.  Today, he also reports on a wide variety of sports including PGA’s major golf tournaments, NBA, MLB, NCAA tournaments and Olympic Games.

The Mexico City-based reporter has served as SportsCenter’s Mexican soccer correspondent and regularly contributes to various studio shows.  Sutcliffe has covered the Mexican National Team for the last eight FIFA World Cups, NFL since 2003 and every Super Bowl since 1994, and over 20 golf Masters.

Before joining ESPN, the Mexico City native worked for various Spanish-language media companies including Univision and Telemundo.

Sutcliffe received his degree in business administration from the Anahuac University in Mexico.

John Sutcliffe comenzó con ESPN en agosto del 2000 como reportero basado en la Ciudad de México, fungiendo como corresponsal del fútbol mexicano en SportsCenter y otros programas de estudio. Desde que se unió a ESPN, Sutcliffe ha sido el informante oficial para dar seguimiento a la Selección Nacional de México. Hoy en día también realiza colaboraciones especiales sobre golf, fútbol soccer, NBA y NFL para ESPN Deportes.

Sutcliffe ha cubierto cinco Copas Mundiales de la FIFA (’94, ’98, ’02, ’06, ´10), siempre informando sobre la Selección Nacional de México. Además de sus responsabilidades en SportsCenter, Sutcliffe funge como el reportero desde la línea de banda para ESPN Deportes en Monday Night Football y comentarista de golf, cubriendo todos los cuatro Majors: el Masters, Abierto de los EE.UU., Abierto Británico y Campeonato PGA.

Sutcliffe, oriundo de la Ciudad de México, ha adquirido un vasto conocimiento de deportes debido a sus muchos años de trabajo en diversas áreas de la transmisión deportiva. Antes de formar parte de ESPN, estuvo con varias empresas de medios en español, entre ellas Univisión y Telemundo.
Sutcliffe recibió su licenciatura en administración de empresas de la Universidad Anáhuac del Norte en México.
