Former Major League reliever Adam Ottavino joined ESPN as an MLB analyst in 2026. Ottavino provides analysis across ESPN’s Major League Baseball coverage, including game telecasts, studio programming and SportsCenter.

Ottavino concluded a 15-year Major League career in 2025 after pitching for the St. Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and New York Mets. Across 727 career appearances, he posted a 3.48 ERA with 862 strikeouts, establishing himself as one of the game’s most reliable and durable relief pitchers.

A New York native, Ottavino enjoyed standout seasons with both the Yankees and Mets. In 2019, his first season in the Bronx, he recorded a career-best 1.90 ERA with 88 strikeouts across 73 appearances while ranking among the American League leaders in relief outings and scoreless appearances. He became the first player in Yankees history to wear uniform No. 0 and remains the only pitcher to record seasons with more than 65 appearances and a sub-2.10 ERA for both the Yankees and Mets.

Originally selected by the Cardinals in the first round (30th overall) of the 2006 MLB Draft out of Northeastern University, Ottavino made his Major League debut as a starter in 2010 before transitioning to the bullpen and carving out a lengthy career as a late-inning reliever. His signature slider and ability to miss bats helped make him one of the most effective bullpen arms of his era.

Ottavino also represented Team Italy in the 2009 World Baseball Classic and Team USA in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. In addition to his broadcasting work, he has hosted the baseball-focused podcasts Baseball and Coffee and Baseball After Dark.
