Chin Wang is the Vice President of Design, Creative Systems, and Strategy at ESPN Creative Studio. She joined ESPN in 2012 as Senior Art Director of ESPN The Magazine.
Wang leads the Visual Storytelling team—a group of visual journalists, photo editors, web developers, designers, concept artists, and animators whose work reaches every ESPN platform. In this role, she is responsible for the creative direction and execution of on-air graphics packages for ESPN’s live events and studio shows, as well as content on ESPN.com and the ESPN app. This includes photography, illustration, infographics, interactive storytelling, scalable design systems, and original artwork for ESPN’s direct-to-consumer and digital platforms, including Disney+. She also shapes the design voice of ESPN’s marketing campaigns, activations, and consumer products. Additionally, Wang manages ESPN’s brand identity, ensuring that ESPN’s visual language remains strong and connected across platforms, screens, and experiences.
Under her leadership, the team has won dozens of awards from The Webbys, Society of Publication Design, Best American Infographics, Society of News Design, Editor & Publisher, American Photography, National Headliner Awards, Associated Press Sports Editors, Communication Arts, the American Society of Magazine Editors, and Promax. Wang was inducted into Folio’s Editorial and Creative Hall of Fame in 2018 and is a multiple Sports Emmy Award winner.
After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Wang began her career as a journalist, most recently at The Boston Globe.
