The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship will include No. 2 seeds which advanced with upsets in the national semifinals — Texas A&M and Notre Dame — Tuesday, April 5, at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN HD, ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Notre Dame returns to the title game 10 years after the Irish won their first title in 2001, while Texas A&M is playing for the program’s first national championship.
Trey Wingo, Kara Lawson and Carolyn Peck will be courtside for ESPN’s studio coverage, joined by Oklahoma head coach Sheri Coale, who just completed her 15th season with the Sooners. Dave O’Brien and analyst Doris Burke will call the game, while Rebecca Lobo and Holly Rowe will report from the sideline.
Special National Title Game Programming
- The Experts: NCAA Women’s Championship Special: The hour-long, round-table studio show will air Tuesday, April 5, at 1 p.m. on ESPNU with Wingo, Lawson, Peck, Lobo and Burke.
- Crunch Time: Women’s Tournament: The two-hour show will air Tuesday, April 5, at 2 p.m. on ESPNU and will revisit the last few minutes of the best and most exciting games of the NCAA Championship.
- College Basketball Live: Women’s National Championship Special: The 90-minute special hosted by Cara Capuano, Abby Waner and LaChina Robinson on Tuesday, April 5, at 6 p.m. on ESPNU will highlight and preview the Women’s National Championship game.
- NCAA Women’s Championship Special Presented by Capital One: ESPN will begin its National Championship game coverage with an hour-long preview special, also hosted by Wingo, Lawson and Peck, from Conseco Fieldhouse on Tuesday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m.
- ESPN Classic will provide 10 hours and five past games Tuesday, April 5, beginning at 9 a.m. from top Final Four action dating back to the 1995 title game between Connecticut and Tennessee.
