2012 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship Set to Air on ESPN3 & ESPNU

The NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship Presented by Enterprise Rent-a-Car field has been whittled down from the original 16 teams with the top four seeds advancing to the semifinals, which will be shown on ESPN3, Friday, May 25, from Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, N.Y. In its third-year as a Division I program, top-seeded Florida will face No. 4 Syracuse at 5:30 p.m. ET, followed at 8 p.m. by No. 3 Maryland, the 2010 National Champion, against No. 2 Northwestern, the winner of six of the last seven national titles.

The National Championship game will air Sunday, May 27, at 8 p.m. on ESPNU and simulcast on ESPN3. ESPN3 will also have full coverage of the postgame celebration, trophy presentation and net cutting.

This is the first time ESPN networks will air the final three games of the postseason. The semifinal games will reair on ESPNU – Tuesday, May 29 at 11 a.m. (Florida vs. Syracuse) and 1 p.m. (Maryland vs. Northwestern).

Jane McManus, a writer for espnW and ESPNNewYork.com, will have all the weekend’s coverage from the campus of Stony Brook University, including game previews and columns.

Rachel Margolis Siegal

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
