Holeshot Seals The Deal On Brown’s X Games Gold
Brown Earns First Men’s Enduro X Win
With solid holeshot maneuvering right out of the gate Mike Brown took the lead from the start and didn’t let go until the finish line as he took the win in Men’s Moto X Enduro X, wrapping up four days of X Games competition in downtown Los Angeles Sunday night.
“To come back from to the silver to the gold is great. That was my goal this year,” Brown said. “All day long I was riding good and I had good times, and I knew if I got a good start I help me win the gold.”
Brown, who took the silver medal in Enduro X in its inaugural X Games appearance in 2011, put a little flare into his victory celebration as he let his bike ghostride away from him when he passed the checkered flag.
In only his second year as a competitor at X Games, California’s Cody Webb took it up a notch from his eighth-place Enduro X finish in 2011 to earn the silver medal in 2012.
“I’m pumped with getting a good start because without it, I wouldn’t be here. I feel I rode pretty flawlessly, and I’m more than happy with my end results,” Webb said.
Rounding out the Enduro X podium was British Columbia’s Cory Graffunder who earned the bronze medal in his first year at X Games.
“Last year I was scheduled to race, and I broke my wrist right before and it was the biggest disappointment of my life, and to follow it up with the bronze the next year is the biggest achievement of my life,” Graffunder said.
Enduro X is a competition of 10 riders racing 10 laps around a course littered with boulder fields, a pond, wood logs and bank turns.

X GAMES LOS ANGELES 2012
X Games Los Angeles 2012 will return to Los Angeles, Calif., June 28 – July 1, 2012, with live coverage on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC. This year will mark the 10th consecutive year the event will be held in Los Angeles and will feature more than 200 of the world’s best athletes in the sports of BMX Freestyle, Rally Car, Moto X and Skateboard. ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC will televise 21 hours of LIVE high-definition programming, while ESPN3 will provide three additional hours of content. ESPN 3D will televise all 21 hours of X Games over the four-day event.
