Forsberg Defends Her X Games Enduro X Gold

Maria Forsberg Races to Another Enduro X Victory

Coming back to defend her Moto X Enduro X title, Maria Forsberg stayed on top of her game to bring home yet another gold medal. It was Forsberg’s tenacity and consistency that allowed her to maneuver around the course and sneak past riders to claim her second victory.

“This race was way harder this year. The girls are faster, more consistent and have gone home and done their homework which made for a good race, I’m pumped to be here,” said an excited Forsberg.

Despite working 9-to-5 as an Electrician, Forsberg manages to find time to train while competing in several World Champion circuits.

“I do Crossfit and try to do a lot of Enduro Cross riding and trail riding,” comments Forsberg on her training routine.

Rookie Louise Forsley followed behind, placing second and earning her first X Games medal. Forsley’s bike handling skills and strength allowed her to shoot out at the start of the race and lead the pack before Forsberg managed to propel herself ahead.

“This is my first year at X Games, and I’m really stoked on getting more exposure out of this. I’ve been training really hard and am happy with my end results,” Forsley said.

Bronze medalist Chantelle Bykerk rounded out the podium in her first X Games appearance.

“I’m pretty happy right now. I wouldn’t think coming to X Games I would be leaving with a medal. I am more than happy with my end results,” Bykerk said.

The Enduro X made its debut at last year’s X Games, showcasing an all-terrain obstacle course that includes mud, sand, logs, rocks and more. This challenging race is set up so that riders are not only battling each other but the course as well.
