Videos to Premiere on XGames.com on May 13
Sixteen skateboarders will compete in X Games Austin’s all-video, all-street skateboarding competition, Real Street. Each competitor has teamed with an editor to produce a video that will present their unique style and vision of street skateboarding. All 16 of these never-before-seen video parts will debut on May 13 on XGames.com/RealStreet. Each athlete’s video part will be judged by a committee of well-respected action sports industry icons and professionals who will award a first-place prize of $50,000 as well as gold, silver and bronze medals for the top 3 finishers during the telecast of X Games Austin. Fans will also have a chance to view each video online at XGames.com/RealStreet and to vote for their favorite, using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to register their picks with the fan favorite winning $10,000. The 16 athletes invited to compete:
- Billy Marks (Corona, Calif.) – A 2011 Real Street competitor, Marks has 10 X Games appearances, with a best finish of ninth at X Games Barcelona. Marks is best-known for appearances in Fallen Footwear’s Ride the Sky and Toy Machine’s Good and Evil.
- Clint Walker (Altus, Okla.) – Recently featured on the cover of Thrasher Magazine, Walker just turned pro for Birdhouse and was featured in Ambig’s Modern Art in 2013.
- Dane Burman (Sydney, Australia) – A 2013 Thrasher Skater of the Year nominee, Burman recently dropped a video part in Zero’s Cold War.
- David Reyes (Denver, Colo.) – Reyes released a full video part in 2013, Etnies Presents: David Reyes.
- Davis Torgerson (Plymouth, Minn.) – Best-known for his opening part in the Minnesota-focused video, Boondoggle, Torgerson had a standout video part in Real’s 2103 video Since Day One.
- Evan Smith (Orlando, Fla.) – Smith has four X Games appearances after competing in the Skateboard Street Pro Qualifier at each stop in 2013, with a best finish of fourth in Barcelona and Los Angeles. His video part Evan Smith Experience also dropped in 2013.
- Forrest Edwards (Riverside, Calif.) – Best-known for his video part in Thrasher Magazine’s 2012 video Unhinged, he turned pro in 2013 with Threat.
- James Hardy (Harvest, Alabama) – Hardy released a video part with Thrasher Magazine in 2013, James Hardy Homecoming, and landed the opening part in Real’s Since Day One video.
- Luis Tolentino (Queens, N.Y.) – Well-known for his high Ollie contests, Tolentino set the high Ollie record in 2009 at 44.5 inches.
- Mikey Taylor (Newbury Park, Calif.) – After five X Games appearances, Taylor has a best finish of sixth at X Games Barcelona. In 2013 he launched his first signature shoe with DC and co-founded Saint Archer Brewery.
- Moose (Oxnard, Calif.) – Bursting on the scene with his part in Bones’ New Ground, Moose turned pro and released his full video part in The Deathwish Video in 2013.
- Nick Dompierre (New Bedford, Mass.) – With three X Games appearances, Dompierre’s best finish was second in Street Best Trick in 2007. He recently was featured in Real’s Since Day One.
- Riley Hawk (Carlsbad, Calif.) – Hawk was named The Skateboard Mag’s Year’s Best Am, released a pro model with Baker and had a video part in Shep Dawgs 4 in 2013.
- Rodrigo Petersen (Curitiba, Brazil) – Peterson is best-known for his full video part in Boulevard’s film Amburger, released in 2012.
- Tyler Surrey (San Diego, Calif.) – Recently added to the New Balance Skate team, Surrey’s latest video part was featured in Sk8mafia/Sweet’s Skateboarding to Every Extent.
- Wes Kremer (San Diego, Calif.) – TransWorld Skateboarding’s Rookie of the Year 2013, Kremer also was featured in Sk8mafia/Sweet’s Skateboarding to Every Extent and released a pro model shoe with DC in 2013.

The Real Series began in 2010 with the debut of Real Street at X Games Los Angeles. Based on the success of this series, Real Snow was added to the X Games Aspen lineup in 2011 as a way to bring urban snowboarding to X Games. The Real Series has also included competitions in Real Surf, Real Women, Real Ski Backcountry and Real Snow Backcountry.
