Tasneem Brutch has joined ESPN as vice president of the company’s Advanced Technology Group.

Under Brutch’s leadership ESPN’s Advanced Technology Group will be an important part of ESPN’s industry-leading Technology division – focusing on the adoption and development of new technologies and next-generation platforms and solutions.

“Tasneem is a highly accomplished researcher, engineer, collaborator and leader,” said Aaron LaBerge, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, ESPN. “It is critical that we are constantly exploring and experimenting with ideas and technologies in a way that allows them to become tangible products and experiences for fans and our business. Tasneem and her team will ensure we are more able than ever to do this. I am thrilled to welcome her to ESPN.”

Brutch and her team will work closely with ESPN’s other divisions – particularly the company’s Production, Digital Media and Operations teams – to bring innovative ideas from concept to reality. She will report directly to LaBerge.

With more than 17 years of technology experience, Brutch brings a skillset that ranges from system architecture and cloud computing, to visualization and virtualization. She also has expertise and extensive experience in mobile and web systems, gaming frameworks and data analytics for the Internet of Things.

Most recently she served as Director of Research and Development at Samsung Electronics where she led a global team of researchers and engineers. Prior to Samsung, she held positions at Intel and Hewlett-Packard.

Brutch holds Ph.D., M.S. and Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from Texas A&M University.  She has 17 issued and submitted patents, and her research has been published dozens of times across industry journals and conferences.
