Second-Highest Rated NBA Finals Ever on ABC Through Two Games

The 2016 NBA Finals is the second-highest rated ever on ABC through two games, according to overnights from Nielsen. The Golden State Warriors-Cleveland Cavaliers rematch is averaging a 12.4 metered market rating.

Last night’s NBA Finals Game 2 – the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by the largest margin of victory ever for an NBA Finals Game 2, 33 points (110-77), generated a strong 11.8 overnight rating, tying it for the third-highest rated NBA Finals Game 2 ever on ABC.

The NBA Finals on ABC is expected to win the night across all of television for the 50th consecutive time. Last night’s Game 2 on ABC peaked with a 13.2 rating from 9-9:15 p.m. and again from 10-10:15 p.m.

Last night’s Game 2 was the third-most watched NBA game ever on WatchESPN. It generated 43,234,000 total minutes streamed, 875,000 unique viewers and an average minute audience of 267,000.

The 2016 NBA Finals will continue with Game 3 on ABC this Wednesday, June 8, at 9 p.m. ET. NBA Countdown will precede the telecast at 8:30 p.m. The game is also available on ESPN Deportes, ESPN Radio and via WatchESPN.
