ESPN’s exclusive coverage of the Wimbledon fortnight climaxes with the Gentlemen’s Championship on Sunday, July 10, at 9 a.m. ET with No. 2 Andy Murray – the 2013 champion seeking his third Major trophy – facing Milos Raonic, the 25-year old Canadian with the intimidating serve in his first Major final. He ousted seven-time champion Roger Federer in Friday’s semifinal.
Chris Fowler will call the match with Patrick McEnroe and three-time Wimbledon champion John McEnroe, who has been a consultant to Raonic’s team since the French Open. Tom Rinaldi will handle the post-match interviews. The match will be preceded by Breakfast at Wimbledon hosted by Hannah Storm at 8 a.m. Also, ABC will present an encore presentation of the match at 3 p.m.
- 2 Andy Murray (GBR) vs. No. 6 Milos Raonic (CAN)
- Murray, 29, leads the head-to-head 6-3, including a win at this year’s Australian Open and in the finals of last month’s grass-court event, Queen’s Club in London.
- Murray is 2-8 in Major finals, winning the 2012 US Open (his fifth Major final) and – to the utter delight of the entire United Kingdom in breaking Britain’s 77-year drought – Wimbledon in 2013.
- Raonic was 0-2 in Major semifinals before this event (2016 Australian Open, 2014 Wimbledon)
- Raonic is looking to be the first male winner outside “The Big Four” (Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray) since Lleyton Hewitt in 2002. He is the first player outside that quartet to reach the final since Tomas Berdych in 2010.
Day of Championships on ESPN
By coincidence, the day will be full of championship competition from Europe as following the Wimbledon telecast, ESPN will air the final match of the UEFA European Football Championship 2016 live from Paris – Portugal vs. France.

Breakfast at Wimbledon hosted by Hannah Storm starts the day at 8 a.m. In addition to a preview of the Gentlemen’s Championship and a look back at the Ladies’ Championship, segments on Sunday’s show include:

The Gentlemen’s Championship will be followed on Centre Court by the Mixed Doubles Championship. The match will be of interest to the fans at Centre Court and on Henman Hill as Heather Watson of Great Britain teams with Henri Kontinen of Finland. The two had never played together before this event. Their opponents are the 15th seed, Colombia’s Robert Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany. Groenefeld has won two Majors in Mixed Doubles – the 2009 Wimbledon (with Mark Knowles) and the 2014 French Open (with Jean-Julien Rojer).
