College Basketball GameDay Corner
For the eighth year, Rece Davis serves as point guard for the College GameDay desk, and is joined by analysts Jay Bilas, Digger Phelps and Hubert Davis to preview all the day’s action and discuss the biggest storylines in college basketball.
This week’s College GameDay will air special segments including clips from ESPNU All-Access: Murray State, a recap encompassing everything that happened in college basketball the previous week and Pittsburgh head coach Jamie Dixon on set, all during the first hour on ESPNU. Later in the show on ESPN, GameDay will look at the history of the 3-point line in college basketball in its 25th year, air a piece on Kansas junior Thomas Robinson and the tragedy he faced last season, as well as show the State Farm half-court shot.
Dan Shulman, Dick Vitale and Erin Andrews have the call of the Louisville/Pittsburgh game.

Spotlight: Celebrating 25 Years of the College 3-Point Shot
As part of a season-long look at the 25th anniversary of college basketball’s incorporation of the 3-point shot, ESPN will highlight an element of the historic rule adaption on every game played across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU on Saturday, Jan. 21.
The day’s highlights:
- Unveiling of the top five all-time 3-point shooters in men’s college basketball, as voted on by the fans
- Each of ESPN’s five games on Saturday will include the announcement of one of the top five players culminating with the number one overall during the No. 21 Louisville at Pitt telecast (9 p.m.)
Elements on the 3-point shot used in the telecasts will include:
- Historical information about the 3-point shot
- How it changed the game
- A look at teams historically known for embracing and utilizing it
- Statistics specific to the teams playing in that game
Fans can vote for their top five, all-time 3-point shooters from a list of 10 players selected by ESPN by logging on to ESPN.com. The countdown will begin with:
- No. 5 at noon (Purdue at No. 9 Michigan State)
- No. 4 at 2 p.m. (No. 5 Missouri at No. 3 Baylor)
- No. 3 at 4 p.m. (Florida State at No. 4 Duke)
- No. 2 at 6 p.m. (No. 1 Syracuse at Notre Dame)
- No. 1 at 9 p.m. (No. 21 Louisville at Pittsburgh)

ESPNU, the home court for college hoops, will give an exclusive look at one of the two remaining undefeated teams – Murray State, and also looks ahead to up-and-coming players’ college careers on the horizon:
Wednesday (5:30 p.m.) – College Basketball Featured showcases the week’s best ESPN features, including Kansas all-access with analyst Jay Bilas, a look at former Valpo coach Homer Drew, the military background of Florida State’s Bernard James and a break down of Missouri’s game logistics by analyst Stephen Bardo.
Thursday (5:30 p.m.) – ESPN Recruiting Nation hosted by Dari Nowkhah is a one-stop shop for college commitment updates thanks to recruiting analysts Tom Luginbill, Paul Biancardi, Dave Telep and Corey Long.
Sunday (11 p.m.) – Dick Vitale College Basketball Game of the Week will be chosen by Vitale each Sunday this season by re-airing college basketball’s best matchup of the week.

Weekly Highlights
ESPN’s men’s basketball schedule for Saturday, Jan. 21, showcases the two remaining undefeated teams, a matchup between top-five programs and the Saturday Primetime Presented by DIRECTV series:
- ESPN & ESPNU combine to televise two unbeaten teams, both on the road, beginning with No. 1 Syracuse at Notre Dame (6 p.m., ESPN & ESPN3), followed by No. 10 Murray State at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (9 p.m., ESPNU)
- A 2 p.m. telecast features two one-loss, ranked programs when No. 5 Missouri travels to No. 3 Baylor (ESPN & ESPN3)
- The second installment of ESPN’s eight-week men’s college basketball College GameDay Covered by State Farm and Saturday Primetime series originates from Pittsburgh for the Panthers’ contest against No. 21 Louisville (9 p.m., ESPN & ESPN3)
- No. 4 Duke against Florida State (4 p.m., ESPN & ESPN3), which is coming off a 90-57 upset victory over then-No. 3 North Carolina last Saturday
- ESPNU’s first season of the ACC Sunday Night Basketball series, featuring a weekly game from the league, pits Virginia Tech at No. 17 Virginia (6 p.m.)
