WNBA Action Begins Wednesday on ESPN2

The first of nine regular-season WNBA games airing on ESPN2 will tip off Wednesday, June 13, in a battle between the east and west – the Los Angeles Sparks at the Connecticut Sun, at 8 p.m. ESPN3 will simulcast the game.

Pam Ward will serve as the play-by-play announcer, working with analyst Rebecca Lobo. Cindy Brunson will anchor the halftime studio coverage.

Each team boasts a 6-1 record thus far this season, with Connecticut sharing the lead in the Eastern Conference with the Chicago Sky. Los Angeles features Nnemkadi Ogwumike, the first overall pick in the 2012 Draft, and top player Candace Parker, while Connecticut’s Tina Charles is averaging a double-double of 20.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
