2016 College Football Season on TV: Fans Watch ESPN’s Networks 2.5 Times More Than All Nationally Rated Networks Combined

Through the first 10 weeks of the college football season, fans have watched 71,673,189,000 minutes of college football action on ESPN’s Nielsen-rated television networks*more than 2.5 times as much as all other nationally rated television networks combined** (27,789,905,000 total minutes).

ABC’s Saturday Night Football featuring Nebraska at Ohio State (8 p.m. ET) was the second most-watched game of week 10 despite the Buckeyes’ 59-point victory. Ohio State’s 62-3 win delivered a total live audience (TV + streaming) of 5,036,000 viewers, up 6% from last season’s week 10 Saturday Night Football (Minnesota at Ohio State).

On ESPN, Maryland at Michigan (3:30 p.m.) delivered a total live audience of 2,387,000 viewers for the Wolverines’ 59-3 victory, up 24% from last season’s similar window (Iowa at Indiana). Also, Washington at Cal (10:30 p.m.) delivered a total live audience of 2,062,000 for the Huskies’ impressive 66-27 win, up 32% from last season’s late night window (Arizona at USC).
