Lee Corso to Make 300th Headgear Pick This Weekend; Washington State Flag Flies for its 200th time
ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot – college football’s longest-running and most-celebrated pregame show – will make its week 6 stop at TCU on Saturday, Oct. 7 (9 a.m. – noon ET) for the first time since 2009, ahead of the West Virginia-TCU matchup at 3:30 p.m. GameDay will originate from the Campus Commons on TCU’s campus, with live SportsCenter segments beginning at 7:30 a.m. prior to Saturday’s show. TCU head coach Gary Patterson will visit the set during Saturday’s show for a live interview.
The seven-time Emmy Award-winning show is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack, as well as contributors Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica, Jen Lada, Tom Rinaldi, Maria Taylor and Gene Wojciechowski.
College Football Live will air Friday, Oct. 6, from the set with Taylor, Howard and Pollack.

Corso began making his entertaining end-of-show headgear pick nearly 22 years ago, donning the headgear of the team who he thinks will win the game that GameDay is present at. Week 6 will mark headgear number 300 for Corso, as he is 196-103 all-time in headgear picks. Of the 299 headgear picks that Corso has already donned, there have been 56 different headgears – Alabama has been chosen the most with 27, followed by Ohio State (25), and Florida and Florida State with 19 each. The phenomenon began on October 5, 1996, prior to the Ohio State-Penn State game in Columbus, Ohio when he put on OSU’s “Brutus Buckeye” mascot head to show his pick to win the game – watch here.
