ESPN Fantasy Football: No. 1 Game Gets Even Better for 2019

ESPN Fantasy Football, the No. 1 most popular fantasy football game, has begun its 24th season with enhanced game play and expanded content on the ESPN Fantasy App and ESPN.com, as well as exclusive content for ESPN+ subscribers and the fantasy sports industry’s most comprehensive collection of expert analysis, news, statistical data and tools across app, web, television and audio.

For the 2019 season, the ESPN Fantasy App, the No. 1 fantasy app on iOS and Android devices, has introduced enhancements that make playing ESPN Fantasy Football faster and easier, with more information and insight than ever before. Updates to the app’s navigation make accessing key screens simple, and slick updates to the roster screen provide fans with more data as they manage their teams. For the first time ever, ESPN+ subscribers will be able to watch fantasy-relevant programs, like The Fantasy Show with Matthew Berry, directly in the app. Also, updates to the app’s video player allow fans to easily browse playlists of clips, double-tap to skip ahead or rewind, and easily play back previous videos.

As always, the ESPN Fantasy App makes it easy for fans to sign up, create or join a league, customize their league and draft, make trades, add players, follow matchups with real-time scoring, see expert analysis and video, and view and post messages to other league members. The app also allows fans to play the entire suite of ESPN Fantasy games, including Fantasy Baseball, Basketball, Hockey and Streak, all in a single app. All ESPN Fantasy games are free to play. Fans can subscribe to ESPN+ within the ESPN Fantasy App or on ESPN.com, as well as the ESPN App across mobile and TV-connected devices.

ESPN Fantasy Football players on ESPN.com will be greeted this season with a new, modern experience. Improvements to the website include more efficient sign-up flows, auto-saving roster moves, new player cards, the ability to set lineups for future weeks, improved tools for league commissioners, and new win probability and touchdown tracker features that will keep fans glued to their live matchup on game day. The draft has also been updated, with enhancements for researching players, improved player search and chat, a redesigned interface and more ways to share draft results on various social media platforms.

Fantasy Football on ESPN.com provides multiple tools for a draft including comprehensive preseason content that analyzes and projects the performance of more than 500 players. Cheat Sheet Central, rankings and strategy tips are part of all the content available, along with new editions of Matthew Berry’s Draft Day Manifesto and his Love/Hate column, Field Yates’s second-year breakouts and Tristan H. Cockcroft’s complete guide to streaming quarterbacks. Other content exclusive to ESPN+ subscribers include Mike Clay’s ultimate draft board and Eric Karabell’s Do Not Draft list and tiered rankings. Also, the ESPN Mock Draft Lobby runs nearly unlimited live practice drafting sessions for all ESPN fantasy football players.

In addition, ESPN Fantasy has continued to work with IBM, embedding Watson artificial intelligence into unique, in-depth projection and player comparison tools. ESPN is also working with TD Ameritrade, which will provide ESPN fantasy players with a tool to contextualize their team’s end-of-regular-season projections to help assess how their team is performing beyond the current league standings.

For ESPN+ subscribers, ESPN Fantasy Football offers an array of tools and information to get an edge. In addition to industry-leading analysis from ESPN’s team of fantasy experts, fans can use the Custom Draft Value Generator, Lineup Recommender, and Free Agent Recommender tools on ESPN.com to put their best possible team on the field every week of the season.

The Fantasy Show with Matthew Berry has returned to ESPN+ for another season of Berry’s insights, irreverent style and cast of unconventional characters. Presented with a daily mix of news, analysis and special guests to help fantasy players win their leagues, The Fantasy Show takes deep statistical dives into key players each week, with a few twists and sidekicks joining Berry, Daniel Dopp and their puppets delivering all the fun.

Themed shows will continue to get fans ready for each week during the season, from recaps to waiver wire specials, Berry’s signature Love/Hate and the match-up preview shows. The Fantasy Show gives fans information not available on other ESPN platforms on who to start, who to sit, who to trade, and who to pick up, all in the name of making everyone a smarter fantasy player.
