Peyton’s Places library on ESPN+

The ESPN+ original series Peyton’s Places, the 30-episode documentary hosted by Peyton Manning, continues with weekly episodes debuting every NFL Sunday through the conclusion of the upcoming NFL postseason in January 2020.
The football-themed Peyton’s Places series is produced by NFL Films in collaboration with ESPN+ and is part of the year-long celebration of the National Football League’s 100th season. It debuted in July exclusively on ESPN+ and the first 21 episodes are available for streaming anytime.
In the next five episodes (eps. 22-26), Peyton explores Vince Lombardi’s legacy, discusses the evolution of NFL coaching, investigates the mystery of the “Immaculate Reception,” visits with his three favorite players, and reveals some of the plays Elvis Presley drew for touch football games.
Highlights:
- Episode 22 – In Lombardi’s Footsteps (December 8): Vince Lombardi is one of the most iconic names in NFL history. Peyton explores the places that define Lombardi’s legacy, including a stop at Yankee Stadium with Bill Cowher and a trip to Lombardi’s Green Bay home in Bart Starr’s Super Bowl MVP car with Brett Favre.
- Episode 23 – The Evolution of Coaching (December 15): Peyton discovers how a missed boat in 1915 led to something new in football – a coach who calls the plays and dictates strategy. As part of the episode, he visits with Hall of Famers Mike Ditka, Tony Dungy, Dan Fouts and Joe Montana to discuss the greatest coaches in NFL history.
- Episode 24 – The Immaculate Reception (December 22): After almost half a century, Peyton tries to solve the mystery of “The Immaculate Reception” with help from Franco Harris, Frenchy Fuqua, Terry Bradshaw and Phil Villapiano. As part of the investigation, Peyton re-enacts the play known as the NFL’s Zapruder Film.
- Episode 25 – Peyton’s Favorite Players (December 29): Peyton takes a trip down memory lane to seek out his three favorite players: His father, Archie, and brother Eli Manning, and his childhood hero, Dan Marino.
- Episode 26 – Elvis Presley (January 5, 2020): Peyton visits Graceland in Memphis, where Jerry Schilling, the man who considers Elvis Presley his best friend, shares how “The King” drew up an entire playbook worth of football plays.
Peyton’s Places: Volume 4 (ESPN / December 24 at 7 p.m. ET)
The series’ latest compilation show, Peyton’s Places: Volume 4, will debut Tuesday, December 24, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. Hosted by Trey Wingo, the 30-minute program will feature highlights from episodes 19-24. Highlights of the compilation show include: the Manning Thanksgiving; the Immaculate Reception; Vince Lombardi’s footsteps, Joe Montana on the impact of legendary Bill Walsh, and more.
